My training cycle for the 2020 Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon is currently at a whole other level than it was a year ago.
I wrote a blog post last week that completely disappeared, but I mentioned in that how in combining my December and January miles, I ran more than 50 miles more this year than a year ago.
But I’ve also drastically improved the quality of my miles.
About a month ago, I wrote a post titled “Better.” that I now realize is a theme that’s really not going away. I may very well repeat myself a lot in all my future posts because it’s something that’s working for the first time in a while.
I’ve had an interesting few weeks with a 10-mile run around my hometown of Bedford and this past week I battled a sinus headache for 12.5 miles. Then I turned around and felt miserable on Sunday for reasons not really related to running.
I keep feeling like I’m on the verge of so much more, and I’m nervously excited about what’s ahead for this next cycle of training as I build my miles much farther than I did a year ago.
