Last month I dropped coming up with three goals. That ended up being a pretty good decision and something I’m going to do this month, too.
However, I am going to focus on goals for the next three months so I can try to be in a great spot to start 2027.
Earlier this year, I set up a long plan for the Blue Ridge Half Marathon and then made some revisions in September. I’m really not too far off what I initially set off to do, but I’m not running quite as much as I had hoped.
Here’s what I’m thinking now for the next few months, with the common theme of “more.”
Continuing the 100+ mile streak
I’ve been quiet about surpassing 100 combined miles of biking and running each month, but that streak has continued. I’m now getting close to 1,000 miles for the year.
I don’t have a final mileage total in mind just yet, but I’ll check back in on that in a few weeks.
Run more … but not too much more
For several years I’ve had streaks and goals of “run more than last month” in the second half of the year, so why not try that for the next few months?
I ran a little bit more in August than July, and then had a decent increase in September. This is my favorite time of the year, so running more feels like the right thing to do.
Weights … weights … and more weights
I’ve been consistent with lifting weights since April. This is one of the longest streaks I’ve had with getting to the gym at least a couple of times a week ever. I need to do more.
I feel like I’ve hit a plateau of sorts, but I have some plans to switch things up a little bit to see what happens.
