Since March, my running has been mostly non-existent … no idea how few miles I’ve run. It’s been nice to some extent as I get over plantar fasciitis, but I also am now at 23 weeks to go until my next marathon. My plan that I’m not calling a comeback needs to look a little something like this:
- Run a 5K event in June
- Really race a 5K in July
- Build back up to a long run of 10 miles by mid-August
- Run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half with a goal of the low 1:50s to establish my comfortable marathon pace
- Race a few other 5Ks or 10Ks during this whole process
- Race another half marathon or long distance in late September/early October
- Go for 3:45 in Savannah, weather permitting
So there you go. It’s out there. Time to follow through and KNOCK IT OUT.
