A little more than year ago I kicked off this idea of making a change every day for a week by giving up soft drinks. My goal, specifically, was to give up caffeinated soft drinks.
I’ve done this before for several months at a time, only to have an occasional Coke or Dr Pepper, which would end up leading to having a few week.
Last year, though, it finally stuck. Aside from ginger ale when I had a stomach virus earlier this year, I’ve had no caffeinated soft drinks. That’s 366 days … and counting. At the time of my original post, my goal was to get through March and not have any. I chose along the way to stay away from them completely.
Today isn’t about starting something new or expanding things I already do. Today is about making a pledge to continue not drinking soft drinks and making a healthy choice every day that I hope leads to other healthy choices. And if this definitely becomes an annual thing that I do, I guarantee this will always make the list.
