I woke up this morning on another Blue Ridge Half Marathon Eve and starting thinking about a few things that seem to happen on race week. Then I texted my sister about it and said I needed to dust of my blog to get these thoughts out of my head.
I’m literally typing this as we drive to Roanoke …
Why does my left Achilles hurt?
Why does my hamstring hurt?
Why does big toenail not growing anymore?
Why does the forecast change so much in just a matter of a few days?
Why does my sister still not know how to pack for a race? A text this morning: I woke up thinking that I needed to pack more clothes like why am I going away for one day and night and I have five pairs of shoes. And I went back to grab a pair of pants in case these get really soaking wet and didn’t even grab them.
Oh wait … I don’t know how to pack for a race either … Why did I pack four pairs of socks?
Why do I have slow, sad songs on my playlist, and my sister has super-fast songs on hers?
Why don’t I want to run a marathon ever again?
That’s all for now … feel free to chime in over on my BlueSky post with your “Why does” questions…
https://embed.bsky.app/static/embed.jsI'm writing a "why does" blog right now…like "why does my foot hurt only on race week?" What types of "why does" questions have you ever had? I'd love to add them to the post!
