Today’s Wicked 10K in Virginia Beach was truly wicked awesome. I would say that 75% of the runners were dressed up in some way. I opted for the Forrest Gump look … and met a fellow Gump along the way. (That’s me on the right, if you don’t know me.)
I knew heading into today’s 10K that I was not in any sort of racing shape at all. I thought this was a perfect event to run for fun and use as a launch pad to some better things in the final two months of the year.
I started nice and slow, ran into a college friend who I ran with for about a mile, managed to run the second half 48 seconds faster than the first half, and came away with motivation to start eating and training better than I have these past couple months. I’ve got a plan that starts Monday, and I’ll writing about that when it gets here.
What happened today is exactly what I needed. Nothing more, nothing less. Time to move along to what’s next!
