Taper time

Sore, tired legs. Raging hunger. A bad run. Pains that come and go.
It’s definitely taper time. It’s not that anything is all that different right now, but I think physically my second 20-miler took a toll on me. Thus the reason for a taper, right?

I actually don’t have a problem with cutting back the mileage or taking an extra day off running if I feel like it, but I’m so ready to get to Baltimore and do this. I’d rather not run for a while and just go. It reminds me of being a kid and seeing Christmas presents under the tree waiting to be opened.

It will come soon enough!! I remember all of my really bad runs happening right before or after the start of taper. So frustrating!
    Let the countdown begin!

    I hear you. I do.

I'm having the taper tantrums too but this time no phantom pains which almost concerns me…we runners are a strange lot.

Please give my regards to everyone else in your household who has to put up with you in the coming days 🙂
My recent post bikerly: @twittyboyd nice! where did you find that?

^ OOoh, chicken quesadilla, add margaritas to the picture and I'm in.
I think someone should make a supplement for runners to take during taper time to help reduce taper things and enhance healing.

Steroids would help with the healing, but would then triple my hungerrange. There's no winning.
