Welcome (again)

The is the last change I am making for a while. I promise … that I’ll try.
In all seriousness though, welcome to my site – runningbecauseican.com. Did you see that? DOT COM. Nothing in between. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but just never had the time to buy the domain or step outside my comfort zone to make the site look anything different than a standard template. But that’s different now. While most of the elements from my previous blog are here – pages with race times and miles, sidebars with a blogroll and archives – there are a lot of things different with this site.

First off, there is an official Contact form so you can easily send me a note about anything. Say hi, ask a question, request to be a guest blogger – all you have to go to the page and fill it out. Secondly is the box to the right that consists of a Recent Comments/Popular Posts/Tags tabbed box, a link to my Facebook Fan page and a box with the five most recent race times that link to the posts about those races. All those areas are easy to navigate, but if you have any trouble, please use the Contact form and let me know.

At the top of the page you’ll find my Twitter feed. I’m still working out some tweaks with that, so if you don’t see anything, it’s not intentional. With any new site there are bound to be some bugs and that just happens to be one of them.

All the way at the bottom of the page you’ll see how all this was possible. My friend Matt designed this page, so if you don’t like it blame him. I KID, I KID. Matt has done some great work with this site and has been very easy to work with. You can see more of his work by going to his site and clicking on the “See my work” link. If you like what he’s done and want some help yourself, feel free to contact him through his site.

I won’t have a long drawn-out post about what this site is and isn’t or what it will or will not be, but expect a few changes from what I’ve done before. I hope to have more product reviews, offer more running tips and have a few more guest bloggers, among other things. My “regular” blogging will continue as usual.

Lastly, I want to say thanks for following me on this running journey. I’m happy to have you with me.

Thanks for all the comments! I've already made one minor change by moving my Blogroll to a link at the top rather than a sidebar.
